Deep Red Dualshock 3 Controller Review

When you buy a gaming system, normally there is at least one controller included with the package and most of the time, people don’t even bother to buy any other controllers just bcause they see no use for them. This is the mindset I had for quite a while, but I finally broke down and purchased one and now I’m here to give you the pro’s and con’s of this purchase.

So let’s start off the review by going over the overall build quality and initial impression of the Deep Red Dualshock 3 controller. When I first held the DualShock 3 Controller after I took it out of the package, I thought it felt a lot more solid, well built, and overall just had a satisfying feeling after spending the $50+ on a controller. The Dual Shock 3 controller feels nice and solid, it brings back those PS1 and PS2 memories and makes you feel at home with the next-gen system.

The one thing I can say about the Dual Shock 3 Controller right out of the box is that the analog nubs were a bit stiff, but if you’ve ever bought a new controller, this is to be expected. But don’t worry, after a few hours of hardcore gaming, the nubs loosen up and feel just like you imagine they should.

Deep Red DualShock 3 Controller

One of the huge pro’s to purchasing a DualShock 3 controller instead of sticking with the standard Six-Axis controller, is that if you’re planning on purchasing any attachments or add-ons for your controller, sometimes they don’t fit so well on the standard Six-Axis controller. This could be a large potential problem, especially if you spend another $20-60 for a simple attachment that may or may not fit correctly on the old controller. Thanks to Kontrol Freek for sending me over some Speed Freek and FPS Freek products to review, my eyes were opened to this problem and now am very satisfied with the new controller purchase.

As far as con’s go for this purchase, I looked around and could only find one potential problem that people said they were having. They said that it seemed like the Deep Red paint on the controller was thin in spots and you could see the internal lights showing through the front of their DualShock 3 Controller. I checked on mine and even with me trying to see the light through the front of the controller, I couldn’t pick it out, so maybe those people just got a bad batch of paint on their controller, but I don’t have that problem at all.

This about wraps up the Deep Red Dual Shock 3 Controller review. I honestly didn’t think that I could come up with so many things to discuss about a controller, but I guess I did, so I hope it was helpful and you keep coming back to check out future unboxings, reviews, and gadget reveals!

LED Tix Clock Review

What is a Tix Clock you may ask? Well, simply put, its a geeky clock that uses flashing LED’s to tell you the time. Not only is it a cool idea, but it also adds a lot of flavor to any room, office, or desk you put it in. Plus, it also comes in two colors for even more versatility!

Be sure if you purchase the LED Tix Clock to go through one of the links below =)

The LED Tix Clock is one of those cool gadgets that I’ve been wanting to get my hands on for years not, but I just never got around to actually ordering one for myself.

As far as first impressions go, I was actually a little bit disappointed, I thought it felt way too light and flimsy for a product with this price tag, I thought it would have a few more options on the back for different modes, and I wasn’t very impressed with the fact that you have to manually reset the time ever time you unplug the Tix Clock.

After some use though, I came to like my LED Tix Clock a lot more than at first glance. The weight issue isn’t a huge deal, especially since it just sits on my desk and I never pick it up. As far as the options on the back, well, to be honest I really didn’t even mess with the options they gave me, so I guess it’s not a huge deal either. And last, but not least, the self keeping time, well this does bug me, because, for real, its 2010, when you buy a clock for this price, it should do more than just keep time, which the Tix Clock does, and it should also keep track of the time even when it gets unplugged.

LED Tix Clock

Overall, there isn’t too much to say about the LED Tix Clock, it’s just a cool little gadget to turn heads. I will say though, that the price tag is a bit much for what the Tix Clock offers. I think that ThinkGeek should remodel the Tix Clock and add in some more features and release a second-gen version, or something to that degree.

I think that’s about all I have to say about the Tix Clock. If you’re looking to buy one for yourself, I would say go for it if you have some extra cash to spend, but otherwise, I wouldn’t be saving up you’re money for one, I just don’t think it’s that great of a product to do so.

Resident Evil 5 Unboxing

Resident Evil 5 was released on March 13th, 2009 to continue on the ongoing series that we have all come to love and enjoy! Unfortunately I am not a huge fan of the series, so I didn’t purchase Resident Evil 5 on launch day, instead, I purchased it around Christmas of 2009.

After playing through this game a little, it is a game for almost anyone, which makes this a great buy. Also, it’s a great game to have on the shelf for when someone comes over and you’re looking for a multiplayer game to play together.

Overall, the controls work fairly well, the gameplay is good, the graphics are very well done for the time range that it was released, and the overall story was decent. To tell you the truth, I haven’t played Resident Evil 5 by myself at all. The only time I’ve played it is with another person. That being said, I wouldn’t purchase this game if you’re planning on just playing it single player by yourself.
