Kodak Zi8 Unboxing

Lately I was in a debate of which pocket camera to purchase for the new season of my daily vlogs. After much thought and consideration, I ended up purchasing the Kodak Zi8 and I must say, I am extremely impressed with it! Even though this is only an unboxing, I will go over my first impressions and my expectations VS what is actually offered with the Kodak Zi8.

The cameras I had in mind were the Kodak Zi8, the Flip Ultra HD, and the Sony Vado HD. While I was researching the features between the three I discovered that the Vado HD was only Windows compatible and so right away I threw that option away. Next I had the Flip Ultra HD, which was actually my first choice. The main reason why I liked the Ultra HD so much was because of the ability to use regular AA batteries for a quick swap on the go. When I went to go pick up the Ultra HD I talked to an employee and he recommended the Kodak Zi8 over the Flip Ultra HD because of all the extra features the Zi8 has to offer and even better, the Zi8 was on sale that day.

So that is basically the story behind why I purchased the Kodak Zi8 and not the Flip Ultra HD or the Sony Vado HD and after some use I will put out a review for what I think of the Zi8 and whether or not I would recommend it to others looking for a HD pocket cam.

Right out of the box the Kodak Zi8 presented a very sleek sexy look and feel to it with a much bigger display screen than the other two options and immediately upon booting the Zi8 you are presented with 5 video recording quality options to choose from. One other feature I really liked was the removable memory. This allows you to be able to upgrade to up to 32 gigabytes of video storage space on your Kodak Zi8. This fact alone was a major plus in my opinion and I can say right now that I am extremely happy with my purchase of the Zi8 over the other two pocket cams.

First of all I want to say thank you all again for every one of you who has followed along with me and all of the new subscribers who keep my subs list growing bigger every day!

Next, I want to say that, as usual, the video schedule for this summer is going to be a little different than the rest of the year. I want everybody to get out this summer and do things that you will remember instead of sitting inside playing video games and watching my reviews. I’m not saying I don’t appreciate all of you watching and supporting my videos, because I most definitely do, but I want to get out this summer and these videos take a lot of time and effort to put together, so lets all just get out and enjoy the weather instead!

I also want to say that if you still want to see what I’m doing with my summer, check out my daily vlog channel and join the community over there for a bit of a change! The link is: GIMRvLOGS

Also, if any of you have any ideas for new reviews or even video types I should get into starting in September, please let me know, I really want to expand the videos to better interest all of you guys!

I think that’s about all for now, I will be releasing a couple reviews during the summer, but I can’t sate a date for when that will happen. Otherwise, I really hope you guys have an awesome summer and I hope you will come tell me about it on my vlogs channel!

I’ll see you guys again in September!!

Fallout 3 Video Game Review

Fallout 3 was released on October 28th, 2008 and attracted thousands of new fans pre-launch. There were some true fans that had played previous versions of the game, but many new gamers discovered it when Fallout 3 launched and not only did they become fans as well, but they became addicts to the world of Fallout!

To start, let’s keep the trend going and start with the graphics provided in Fallout 3. Overall, the graphics are very well done, especially for a sandbox game. This game has a HUGE map and you can tell that, for the most part, there was a lot of time, effort, and thought put into the creation and texturization of the environment for Fallout 3. Granted, there are some textures that just look like someone slapped them on there a few seconds before they finalized the game, but it’s nothing to get uptight about.

Fallout 3

Next up, we have the gameplay, controls, and storyline. The gameplay is smooth and the menus are well thought out. I really have nothing to complain about as far as gameplay or controls go. The controls are easy to pick up and the only thing I found somewhat annoying was the FPS aspect was poor. Throughout, I would say, at least 90% of the game I didn’t aim for myself at all, I just used the auto lock feature, which after a while and after you’ve leveled up to a decent level, it becomes almost boring to be honest. The storyline was all well and good except for the ending. I really really did not like the ending at all and wish I would have known not to go into that last room so I didn’t lose all that crazy armor I looted in that last mission. Other than that though, I think the rest was well done and they have more than enough missions to keep you busy for days after you’ve beat the main missions.

Trophywise, Fallout 3 has probably the most trophies I’ve seen in any game. I completed Fallout 3 with only 16% of the trophies and I was actually looking to complete as many side missions as I could find. Now, if that doesn’t give you an idea of how much Fallout 3 has to offer, then you just need to pick it up and see for yourself. At this point, I don’t see any reason why not to spend $20.00 on this game even just for the trophies or even to take up some space on your shelf until you have some free time.

Overall, besides the ending which I really did not like, everything else about this game is a positive aspect and I really had a lot of fun playing through this game and it was the best $20.00 I’ve spent in a long time. The only other thing I found somewhat disappointing is that it doesn’t have any multiplayer, but you really can’t complain about this due to the fact that Fallout 3 has so many other things to offer instead, that it will keep you occupied for days on end if you’re trying to complete all the main and side missions.

YouTube Upload Tutorial

For any of you that have a Mac, I would highly recommend downloading MPEG Streamclip just to have it on your computer, because it can be extremely useful even though it’s such a simple little application. Not only can it open just about any video file type you can imagaine, but it also has the capability to download videos directly from url’s, meaning you can just set it to download your video and export it right out in whatever format you want as soon as it’s done. Now that alone is enough to make me keep this awesome app!

For the screen recording done in this video, I used an application called Screenium. It is not a free program, you need to buy it to use it, but they do have a free trial and it is a fairly inexpensive app that is well worth the money even if you don’t use it much.

If you’re looking for tips on naming and tagging your video’s, try searching for other videos that are about the same general topic as yours and gradually narrow it down until you come up with a good title that you want to use. Than for the tagging, just compare with those other related videos from before and type out tag ideas that you think of based off of the tags they used for their video.

There really isn’t much to uploading a YouTube video, so there really isn’t much more I can say, but if you want to get some more tips and tricks related to this topic, check out the video above and I will give you lots of other tricks you can use to speed up your YouTube upload process!

Robin Hood Movie Review

Robin Hood made it’s appearance into theaters on May 14th, 2010 in competition with Iron Man 2. Everybody knows and loves the original Robin Hood movie, but we all are asking, “Is the new one worth the money? Does it live up to expectations?” Just keep reading and you’ll find out everything I think about this movie and whether or not to see it in theaters or wait until you can rent or buy it on DVD and BluRay.

Let me just get this out of the way first, being as I was fooled by this, so if you’re thinking of going to see Robin Hood, you may well want to know this as well. The story in this Robin Hood movie doesn’t follow the original story that we all remember from our childhood. It tries to keep the general idea the same, but instead it more portrays the path leading up to the original movie that we all know and love, meaning that it has been well set up to allow for a sequel to be released.

Robin Hood the Movie

As far as the cast goes, the only complaints I have are that Robin tries to talk like Batman when he tries to be manly and we all know how Batman’s voice went over in his movie, so let’s just say, it’s not a highlight of this movie either. Another person that didn’t really fit too well in my mind was Friar Tuck. I really can’t pinpoint any specifics, I just didn’t like the overall character for this part, I think they could have found someone better. Then, last but not least, we have Maid Marian. Overall, there was basically nothing I liked about her in this movie. Her overall role in the film didn’t fit with what I expected in my mind and honestly, she looked much too old to play the one who is supposed to be the highlight of the film.

Graphically, Robin Hood was very well done. I really enjoy picking apart the special effects of movies and trying my best to figure out how they recreated those scenes. The color contrast rendering of the movie matches that of Gladiator, but this being said, it isn’t a good thing, in fact, it fits very well and really makes the Robin Hood movie what it is.

As far as the rating goes and what to expect if you’re considering bringing your kids along with you to see this movie, there was no swearing and no nudity involved, so there is not much of a concern in this department. If your kids are interested, I would say go ahead and bring them along. They probably won’t understand most of the storyline, but they will enjoy the action and war scenes.

Other than this, I believe there is nothing left to discuss for this review. If you are thinking about going to see Robin Hood in theaters, I would say go for it, it’s worth 10 bucks. If you’re not really interested, I would say, there’s no need to go out of your way to see it, but you may want to consider it just to kill some time. I think that’s about it, I’ll see you next week with another review!
