Jabra BT125 Review

I got my Jabra BT125 Blue Tooth Headset with my copy of Warhawk back when I first got my PS3 and here’s the review!

Overall the Jabra BT125 is a really solid and well performing headset especially for only $12.00! I would recommend the Jabra BT125 to anyone who doesn’t mind wearing a Bluetooth headset on their ear.

First I’ll start with the look of the Jabra headset. Out of the many headsets I’ve seen, I must say, the Jabra BT125 has a really sleek looking design and is easily one of the sexiest headsets I’ve come across. Although the design does nothing to improve the abilities of hte headset, the look does mean something and for the Jabra, the look is at its best!

The comfort level of the Jabra BT125 headset isn’t the best. To be honest I really don’t like the feel of many Bluetooth Headsets to begin with and Jabra could have put a little more thought into the comfort level of this bad boy. I found that after a while of using it, my ear would really start to hurt, but being as I was gaming, I ignored it until it turned from a sore ear into a throbbing headache. That was the main reason why I went out and bought the FreeStyler 500. I ended up sacrificing some quality and performance for the comfort, but that’s just me.

The sound quality on the Jabra BT 125 is really quite amazing for a $12.00 mic. I found that I never had to turn the volume to the maximum and I could always hear clearly and from what others have told me, they could hear me clearly as well. I never got any complaints in game lobbies from anyone telling me that my mic was buzzing so there’s no need to worry about that. As far as quality goes, this is probably among the best you’ll find in the Jabra’s price range.

Overall the Jabra BT125 is a solid headset and I really think it was very well designed. Again, the only negative thing was the comfort and that really kills this headset for me. If you’re looking for a headset, I’d say this is a great option and for only $12.00 it’s worth a shot!

inFamous PS3 Review

Here is another PS3 exclusive review for inFamous! The inFamous demo is one of the best demo’s that I’ve ever played, this even tops the UFC demo, and you all know how much I liked that!

I really enjoyed the demo and I wasn’t planning on picking this up when it came out, but the demo might have changed my mind. You’re definitely going to want to download this demo because this game is beast!

So I saw that inFamous was out and so I decided to download it and give it a try after watching a few reviews. Unlike most other demos I’ve downloaded, while I was waiting for inFamous to download I actually forgot that it was downloading and came back to the Playstation 3 a few hours later and realized that it had been finished for hours. For some reason I just didn’t think this game was going to have everything to make it a winner for me.

I played the first half of the demo without sound because I was using the computer at the same time and wasn’t putting too much attention into the game, so I can’t really talk about the story in the beginning, as I didn’t watch the entire thing with sound. Even so, I’ve got to say it looked good. The way Sucker Punch put the comic feel into the story made it really feel like a super hero game.

The graphics of inFamous, I must say, could have been better. I know inFamous has been a while in the making so I’ll give them that, they started the game a while ago, but still, the graphics didn’t cut it for me. I’m glad they focused on the electricity and the way that looks, because that’s what saved it for me. The explosions and the way Cole uses the electricity is very well done. The fact that you can hover or just drop off the top of a building and come down in a ball of electric fury is freaking sweet!

The controls are the easiest controls of any game that I’ve every played before! The way they work reminded me of God of War a little bit and how you unlock more combos and build on moves as you continue through the game. For me, it does get a little confusing after you build up your arsenal of moves and combos because you have so many variations that you forget them and end up leaving some out and just use the same bunch of moves. I have to give Sucker Punch credit in the variety of moves and the layout of the guide that shows you the buttons for each move. I think they did a great job on this and it seems like they spread out the unlocking of moves throughout the game so you don’t get too many moves too fast.

Finally the gameplay, it reminds me of Spiderman, Grand Theft Auto, Tony Hawk, and God of War. The Spiderman feel comes from the way you climb up objects, I really love the smoothness in the way you just flow up buildings. The GTA feel comes from the open environment. I really love sandbox games and it looks like inFamous might find it’s way to a spot in my favorites with the set up of the map. For some reason when I’m running down the streets it just feels like the old Tony Hawk games to me. I can’t figure out if it’s the cars or just that you run fast and it seems like you’re on a skateboard. Either way, it’s not a bad thing, I enjoyed the Tony Hawk games and inFamous looks awesome! As I mentioned before, the God of War feel, to me, comes with the way you build on your moves and unlock variations of the moves that you’ve already learned.

Overall, inFamous looks just awesome and I think I’m going to pick it up if I have the extra cash. The only complaints I have are there were a few glitches that I found and the enemies were very repetitive. Sucker Punch didn’t put a lot of effort into breaking up the look of the enemies. One more thing I didn’t like too much was the layout of the city, to me it just felt repetitive and seemed like parts of it were neglected by the designers, but I can deal with that for being able to run around and electrocute anyone and everyone.

Hope everybody has a great week and I’ll be back Wednesday!

Last week, I was looking around for more products to review and I came across UniqueSkins and thought their products looked like a winner! I looked into it further and UniqueSkins was kind enough to send me out some skins to review! After receiving the skins and looking them over, I turned out to be correct in calling Unique Skins a winner, because these skins are super durable and high quality!

As far as how I like it, I think that Apple should include one of these skins with every iPod purchase, because everyone hates to scratch up that beautiful silver backing on their brand new iPod. This makes them go buy a case, even if they don’t want it and most of the time people shop around for a case, so Apple doesn’t get the money anyway! Skins are a perfect and inexpensive way to fix this problem! I’ve always had cases with all of my iPods and I never liked how fat it made the device, but now I know what to buy with my next iPod upgrade!

Overall my opinions on UniqueSkins products are that I’m simply amazed that I never came across them before. Their products are phenomenal and I don’t think there’s any better skins out there! The skins are made of thick, almost a silicon material that isn’t going to get ruined if wet and won’t tear unless you’re trying to tear it. Another amazing thing that Unique Skins pulled off is the quality of the custom image after being made into a skin. I gave them a high quality image and that image is just as high quality on my skin, no quality was lost in development and printing! Now that’s something to be proud of! Keep up the good work Unique Skins!

The skins start at $6.99 and vary in price depending on the size of the skin.

Left 4 Dead Video Review

The Left 4 Dead video review, an Xbox 360 exclusive!

Left 4 Dead was a requested review by vinhbotchu after he donated $5.00, so go check out vinhbotchu’s channel.

Overall, Left 4 Dead is a fun, time killing, zombie game and I think it’s worth buying. If you don’t want to buy it, just rent it to give it a try and see how you like it. It does get fairly repetitive, so renting might be the better idea for you.

As far as the controls go, they are pretty much just standard shooter controls and for once, the sensitivity is actually not too bad. You can raise it up so that it’s at least playable for those of you who are like me and need high sensitivity to play at your best. Other then that, the controls are great and easy to pick up right away.

The graphics are pretty exceptional for an Xbox 360 game, I have to give the credit to Valve for putting such effort into the details in this game. This being said, the graphics aren’t on the top of the charts, but they pass the test.

Left 4 Dead is a really fun game when you first pick it up and why wouldn’t it be? Who doesn’t like to slaughter zombies with multiple weapons? Anyway, after a while of ‘zombie mowing’ it gets pretty repetitive and the lifetime value of this game is fairly low. I must say, this is probably one of the games you would want to rent instead of buy. Just by renting it, you could probably get the full picture of what it’s all about and fully enjoy what Left 4 Dead has to offer. If you’re a gamer who likes to take their time and really take in the game, you might have to rent it twice to get through everything.

Left 4 Dead really focuses on teamwork for every aspect of the game, no matter what you’re doing, teamwork is essential for the survival of everyone. You need to stick together and watch each others back. Another quality that goes hand in hand with teamwork is communication. You and your team are going to have to have good communication or you are setting yourselves up for failure. When you have zombies coming at you from everywhere, it’s good to know where your teammates are and which sides are covered or need to be covered.

I think with all of these pro’s and cons taken into consideration, Left 4 Dead is a great game and offers a lot of fun for a short amount of time. It is one of those games that you can only play so much of before getting bored of it and probably trading it in. You might want to hold on to Left 4 Dead as it can be a pretty fun party game, but there are plenty of other party games that I would keep instead.

Have an awesome weekend everyone!
