Burnout Paradise Review

Burnout Paradise was released on January 22, 2008. Some people say you’re either a racing person, or you’re not, well, even though Burnout Paradise is a racing game, it’s not just for racing people!

If my memory serves me right, Burnout was the first game series to ever have in game damage to your car and they’ve built themselves a name using that idea. Not only does the damage look amazing, but every aspect of this game graphically can’t even be described with words. Burnout Paradise really gives you a thrill like no other racing game thats ever been made! Just the detail that’s been put into the road and the scenery of Paradise City is just amazing.

As far as the gameplay goes, Burnout Paradise has lots of races to offer and many different race types, so you’re not going to get bored in a hurry, in fact, if you get bored, it’s probably going to be because there’s too many things for you to do.

One concern you may have is that the CPU is either too easy or too hard. Well, it’s neither, it’s very well done and sometimes it actually feels like you’re racing another person! Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case, occasionally you play some races and the CPU just acts extremely stupid, but thankfully it’s not a common occurrence.

The controls can’t really go wrong, so I don’t really need to even talk about them. Well I guess they could go wrong, but that would be pretty difficult to mess up the controls for a racing game.

I usually don’t discuss the online play with too much detail, but in this time it absolutely needs to be talked about. If you’re planning on buying this game and not playing online, you really need to rethink that choice because the online play really makes this game what it is!

Not only can you just race around with your friends online, but you have over 300 challenges you can complete and you can even hold your own competitions with your friends! I think Electronic Arts really put a lot of thought and detail into the online system and it deserves a play if you decide to buy the game!

Overall, Burnout Paradise is a very solid game and deserves the buy, I wouldn’t suggest renting it because there’s just too much to enjoy and you won’t have enough time to get through it all if you just rent it.
