Bump Top Released For Mac

Bump Top was officially released for Mac on January 22nd, 2010 and immediately took off right on launch day. Not only does it make a small monitor more convenient and easier to use, but it makes desktop organization extremely fast, easy, and fun!

I remember back a few years ago now, when Bump Top had just been released for Windows and it was a huge hit! People were ranting and raving over this little program. Some people didn’t know how such a simple, yet complex, idea could make such an impact for every type of user. I never actually downloaded Bump Top for Windows, because I already had a large monitor and I didn’t see the need for it, I just figured it was going to use up more resources in the background and slow down my computer, but now that I have a 13″ Unibody MacBook, I see the need and Bump Top was here to fill it!

Bump Top Icon

BumpTop basically takes all the features you already have with your desktop and combines them together with its own little twist to each. Most programs that try to do this, or something similar, usually fail miserably, but I have to give Bump Top props, because I couldn’t find anything that I would change that hasn’t already been done. To list a few of the features, Bump Top makes icon selection much easier and more precise, it offers the ability to stack icons, as well as group icons in many different designs.

Bump Tops main eye catcher is the 3D desktop environment it has to offer. You can have up to 5 different desktop wallpapers and to put it simply, you have 5 separate desktops all conveniently woven into one. I’m sure at this point, if you haven’t looked at the program, you are extremely confused as to what this all means. Well, if that’s the case, check out the video above and look for yourself as I capture my first reactions to all that BumpTop has to offer!

Overall, BumpTop is extremely user-friendly and easy to pick up and start using. It has lots of features included in the free version and I think they even put too many features in the free version, because I don’t even see the need to upgrade to the full version due to the access to so many tweaks and tools included. Bump Top is a must have for anyone with a laptop, but for a desktop, I don’t really see the need, but it definitely helps with organization and even does it with some style, so for you desktop users, the choice is yours, but I would recommend you give it a shot no matter what kind of computer you’re using.

Block All Firefox Ads

I know I’m not the only one who hates going to a website and having ads all over the place getting in the way of you trying to navigate around the website and ruining the overall experience. This has bothered me for years and eventually, most people develop tunnel vision and just ignore them, well that works, but there’s a much easier way and it’s called AdBlock Plus!

AdBlock Plus is completely free and I recommend it for all levels of users!

The download link is below, so click the link to download and keep reading and I’ll walk you through how to set it all up and get started!

Once you’ve downloaded the plugin and clicked install, it should ask you for the region you’re in and then have a long list of websites that AdBlock has deemed unwanted. You can go ahead and sort through all these if you would like, or you could just leave them all checked like I do and as you come across websites that are blocked that you would like to unblock, just manually unblock them with a click of the mouse!

So, once you’re done installing AdBlock Plus and you’ve customized all your settings and restarted FireFox, you should see a red stop sign in the top right-hand corner of your browser. When the icon is red, it means it is enabled and blocking all ads on the web page you’re currently on. If you would like to temporarily turn it off, click on the small arrow to the right of the icon and it will give you a drop-down box that has an option at the bottom that says, “enable Adblock Plus” and a check mark next to it. Just click that option and the check mark will go away and the icon will turn grey meaning that it is now disabled. To turn AdBlock back on, just do the same thing you did to turn it off.

There is one more option you have in AdBlock as far as the status of the plugin. Instead of having to disable AdBlock every time you go to a specific website, you can turn it off for the entire domain or just a specific page on the domain and every time you go to there, AdBlock will automatically turn itself off until you leave that page. To do this, click the drop-down arrow again while you’re on the web page you want to do this on and click on either “disable on this page only” or “disable on insertwebsitehere.com” and each will do as they say.

There are other minor tweaks you can do, but they’re not main components, so you can mess around with the rest of them on your own time, but that’s how to set up AdBlock Plus so you will never see another ad again unless you choose to!

YouTube Other Channels Box

So today I was browsing around, not really looking for something to make a video on, but I came across a video from CompHacksFYI showing how to add the “Other Channels” box to your YouTube page without being a partner!

Right as I saw it I thought you guys would enjoy it too, so I decided to show you guys how to do it as well!

So lets get started, first just login to your YouTube account that you want to add the “Other Channels” box to and go to your account page.

Next, install the FireBug plugin to Firefox and restart the browser once it’s finished. Once you’ve done this you will see a small icon in the bottom right hand corner of FireFox. Thankfully, FireBug doesn’t have a huge distracting icon that takes up a ton of on screen real estate, so the only thing you will have to deal with seeing is that small little bug icon.

Now, go back to the YouTube account page and click “Modules”. Next, right click on the “Groups” check box and click “Inspect Element”. FireBug will now split your screen and give you a bunch of code on the bottom half and there will be a line that’s highlighted. If you look further, the line will read, value=”user_groups”. Now click on where it says “user_groups” and it should let you type, so change the word groups to hubber_links.

Once you’ve done this, just hit the little off button in the corner of FireBug and check the box for groups and click save changes.

Now all that’s left to do is scroll down and add in the other YouTube accounts that you want to link to from this one!

Lockerz.com FREE Beta Invites

Lockerz.com is a website like SwagBucks where you earn points to redeem for various prizes. The only problem is that most of these sites are extremely unreasonable and it is nearly impossible to receive an actual prize, but thanks to Lockerz you can pick from prizes from the moment you sign up!

Just contact me with your email, I’m constantly online, so as soon as I get your request I will submit your email to Lockerz.com for them to send you an invite! PLEASE only send me emails that are not already in the system, meaning that you have NOT asked someone else to send you an invite yet. THANKS!

NOTE: Due to high traffic on Lockerz.com, sometimes Lockerz delays the time they send out the invites so don’t worry, it’s on it’s way, just be patient!

“Lockerz is the place to go to buy the coolest stuff at the lowest prices, watch exclusive video, discover new music, play the hottest games, hang out with your friends – and get rewarded for just about EVERYTHING you do on the site.

Our mission is to be your daily habit, not a site for your parents or grandparents looking for their long-lost friends from Kindergarten.

One other thing you’ll love about Lockerz are PTZ (or “Pointz”). PTZ are Lockerz’ proprietary loyalty “currency” that you earn whenever you buy, watch, play, share, invite friends, or even just show up on Lockerz. Redeem PTZ at the PTZ Place for incredible prizes, great products and dream experiences.

Too Good to Be True? Why are we doing this? To thank you for joining early. To build a Lockerz community of cool, stylish, cutting-edge people who love to buy great brands. To give you a taste of how PTZ will work when we go live this fall. And to test out different prizes and PTZ levels. Thats key. This version of PTZ Place is a test. PTZ levels will change when the full Lockerz site launches.

Lockerz is set to launch sometime in the Fall 09. Members who sign up now will get to explore and help shape the site before the launch. We hope you’ll join us.”

I’m going to get back to the weekly live sessions, but this time I’m going to be doing them on Ustream instead of BlogTv, because I think Ustream is more user friendly.

I’m considering adding a forum to Extreme-Days over my vacation and want to know your opinions on this? I think I’m going to make an exclusive membership option and give those members some benefits that the normal members wont have access to. If you have any suggestions of features or services I should include in the membership section, or just the forum itself, please let me know!

One more important bit of news, I accidentally deleted my video intro, so I want one of you to make an intro for me and send me the link to it! If I pick your intro for mine, I will use it in all the rest of my videos, (granted I don’t delete it again) from now on! I don’t have a prize to give away for that except that I will give you credit and use it in all my future videos!

I think that’s all the news for today and be sure to keep checking back for more info, I have a lot of ideas that I want to start working on while I’m away!
