February has arrived and with it comes a bag full of games and goodies! It’s time to find out which games are worth checking out, purchasing, or just good for throwing in the trash! Let’s get started!
First up is a series that has grown to become near and dear to each and every Playstation 3 owners heart! Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception is on it’s way! Currently there is no set release date, but I would imagine somewhere around the end of 2011 which means I better have my $60 set aside so I can pick this one up on launch day! This time it looks to be set somewhere in Arabia, which means some desert warfare for us! I’m super pumped for this one and I would encourage each and every PS3 owner to pick this up when it launches!
Now for all of us gamers who have been around for a while, April is the month for us! Mortal Kombat is being redone and released for PS3 and 360! They are saying there will be online and offline multiplayer, so hopefully this can live up to what Street Fighter has done here on the next gen systems!
You have to love those titles that just don’t give you any idea of when they’re going to be released, but as long as they’re worth it in the end, that’s what matters! Silent Hill Downpour happens to be one of these and let’s hope it lives up to the name this series has developed over the years! I really don’t have too much to say about this one, mainly because I didn’t buy any of the previous titles, so I’m not a huge fan, but for those of you that are, this one looks like it has had a lot of work put into it and it will probably be one that you will want to purchase ASAP.
Another title that I’m not really a fan of is WWE All-Stars. All Stars is due in March 2011, so this is coming up fast! If you are a fan, you probably know more about this than me, but if you aren’t a fan, this probably isn’t worth your time!
Now that we’ve gone over one that’s coming up fast, let’s skip to a title that’s due to release sometime in 2012. The game we’re talking about is Prototype 2 and it’s due to be released on PS3 and Xbox 360. Now in all honesty, Prototype 1 really didn’t do well. It had huge hype, but once it was released nobody liked it, so you need to be wary of purchasing Prototype 2, because for all we know it could be the same thing as Prototype 1, so this one is probably going to be a pass.
Now, everyone is looking forward to the Summer Releases of 2011 so Dungeon Siege 3 is going to be a big name on that list! Unfortunately, it looks like it’s going to be just a button masher without online play. So this for me is a definite pass. I can’t say that the previous titles sucked, because I never played them, but from what I can see about this one, it looks like this is not a game for me and I would suggest you pass as well.
This just about wraps up the gaming news for February 2011, so I will be back with the monthly updates in September, but I will keep up with the reviews and whatnot until then!
It’s January of 2011! We made it through another year of reviews and updates can you believe it?! Let’s make 2011 an epic year together and do more than double what was done last year!
The first game that we have coming up is Dead Space 2 for PS3 and 360! Dead Space 2 is due to be released on January 25th. Now from what I’ve heard about Dead Space 1, it was nothing worth spending money or time on, so I’m really not sure what to think about Dead Space 2. I think I’m going to play it safe and let other people try it before me and then base my decision on what other people have said about it, because, in all honesty, I’m really not expecting it to be much more than the last game, so if that is the case, I’ll pass on this one.
Next in line, due to be released sometime in quarter 2 of 2011, for all platforms is Operation Flashpoint: Red River. Up till now, I haven’t heard a word about this game, but from what I can see it looks like a halfway decent title and it might be one to look into purchasing if you like online play and want to get away from the mainstream shooters a little and branch off to a lesser known title.
For all of you Xbox 360 people out there, we have an exclusive coming out for you guys sometime in December 2011. The title is near and dear to many of your hearts already and the next title in the series has been named Dead Rising: Case West. I must say this is one of the exclusives that ruffles my feathers because it will not be released on the PlayStation platform. I really think in my opinion that this game is going to do much better than Left 4 Dead, because in my opinion I really didn’t care for Left 4 Dead too much and I think that Dead Rising looks much more interesting.
For all of you PSN and Xbox Live Arcade lovers, we have a pretty interesting title due to be released sometime in Spring 2011 with the name of Stacking. The idea is that you’re a Russian stacking doll that has to make it through various puzzles and challenges using stealth and creativity. In all honesty I think that this is a pretty awesome idea type, but I don’t think it is going to do too well because of it’s lack of exposure, but if this sounds of any interest you might want to consider picking this one up because I might put this one on the buy list for me too.
Now there are a handful of other games due to be released soon, so I’m just going to quickly list some of them out and their release dates just so you don’t have to read for hours here.
The Cursed Crusade due in Summer 2011. This title is 1-2 players offline and 2 players online.
Killzone 3 is due on February 22nd and this is for sure one that you want to pick up on launch day!
Another title due on February 22nd is the next Bulletstorm title which I really can’t say much about because I really haven’t heard a thing about it.
This just about wraps it up, there are a few more, but they’re not really even worth mentioning, so I will see you guys next month! Keep gaming!
This Holiday Season seems like a little bit of a dry spell for the video gaming world. There aren’t a whole lot of big titles, or even any titles coming out now really, but after some searching I came across a few, so let’s get into it!
One interesting game that was released on November 30th was Epic Micky. Now I don’t know a lot about this game, or even a whole lot about the Wii in general, but this seems to be a fun little adventure game for the younger generation, so if you have children or younger siblings, this might be one to pick up!
The next game in the lineup is Gears of War 3! Now I’ve played through almost the entire Gears 2 campaign and I don’t think I’ve touched Gears 1, but this series has a huge reputation to stand up to and so hopefully when Gears 3 is released it stands up to the massive audience that has been built from this game title, so be checking sometime in Fall of 2011 for this one!
Since Gears 3 was a 360 exclusive it’s time for a PS3 exclusive which is coming up fast! Little Big Planet 2 is due to be released on January 18th 2011! I am a huge fan of Little Big Planet and I am going to have to pick this title up in the near future after its release. I am super excited to use my new move controllers with this game, I think this is what the move is all about and I really think this is going to give the move market a huge jump!
Usually with all this console talk the PC gamers get left by the wayside, but not today! I have a PC exclusive coming up as well for all you PC gamers to keep your eyes open for and as every good PC gamer should be familiar with already, the title is Diablo 3. The release date on this one is still TBA and I’m sure we will receive more information regarding the release date in the near future. I haven’t gotten any game time in on any of the previous titles in this series, but I have heard a lot about it and I know that if I had the time and money to play MMORPG’s all day long, this would be one of the ones on the top of my list!
This just about wraps up this months update. Like I said, there haven’t been a lot of titles due to come out this month, but there were exclusives announced within every gaming platform, so there’s a little something for everybody to look forward to! I’ll see you guys next month!
Whats up!?!? I hope everything is going well for you guys, because I know for me, even though sometimes things come up that you don’t like, overall life is good!
I want to introduce a new segment today to you guys that I will try to do once a month. I’m not sure what I’m going to call it yet, but it’s going to be a monthly update on all kinds of gaming news. So if you have any ideas as to what to call this segment, please let me know!
So lets start with recent and upcoming releases. First off we have a big one that I’m looking forward to, Rockband 3. Can you believe it’s already up to the third installment? I remember when Rockband 1 first was released and that really wasn’t all that long ago. Anyway, the big thing I’m looking forward to with this is the real guitar. There have been haters ever since Rockband and Guitar Hero got big that said it was a waste of time, but now they can shove it because it uses a real guitar now. I’ve also heard news about how they are going to allow you to transfer all your old songs to this new installment for free if you purchase Rockband 3 within the first week of launch and after that they will be charging you $6.00 a game to transfer, so you might want to think about getting this on opening day if you’re a fan of the series.
Next we have Infamous 2, due to be released in 2011 sometime. We really don’t have a whole lot of news on this yet, other than the fact that they’ve added lots of new powers and abilities and also changed just about everything possible with the main character, so this ought to be an interesting release when it finally comes out.
Another title that is a fairly new release was Fallout New Vegas. I loved Fallout 3, but I really don’t think I’m going to purchase this one due to the fact that Fallout, for me, was just one of those games that I would spend a couple weeks on and then just put it on the shelf for half a year and whip it out again and play for another week or so and then just be done with it, so I don’t think it would be the best choice of an upcoming game for me.
Bioshock Infinite is due to be released sometime in 2012, so we have quite a while to wait for this one, but I’m going to call it now, this game is going to be absolutely stunning! Mark my words on that one guys, this is going to be an awesome looking game.
For those Xbox fans I have out there, Halo Reach was just released about a week ago and I heard tons and tons of hype about this before it’s release, but now that it’s out, everybody has kind of been silenced. Maybe it’s because they’re so pulled into the game that they can’t put it down long enough to let the rest of us gamers if it was worth it, but I think a more likely story is that it was just over-hyped and now they are afraid to come out and tell us the truth of how this game turned out.
One last thing I want to mention is the Playstation Move. This thing has had a lot of talk and a lot of speculation and doubters ever since it was announced. As far as I’m concerned though, I think this is going to be huge, there are so many possibilities with this thing and I’m so excited to see what developers are going to do with this. This is definitely going to be on my Christmas list this year and I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these.
I want to first start off and say that I hope your summer is going as completely awesome as mine has! This being said, I do miss making new reviews and updates for everybody in the community, but I’m proud to announce that I have not just forgotten about all of you. I have actually been talking to a few potential partners over the summer and so far one of them has worked out! I am really excited to announce that Extreme-Days and EveryDayGamers will be collaborating together starting in September!
I have decided to continue with Extreme-Days and also help out with some content and exclusives for EveryDayGamers. Now, don’t get all worried, I am not ditching Extreme-Days, in fact, I’m having a new writer or two help out with Extreme-Days as well, but I will be doing exclusives for Extreme-Days as well as EveryDayGamers with the hope of having both of out communities join together and interact.
So, what does this mean for you? Well, basically it means that to get all my content you’re going to have to go over to EveryDaygamers and check out what I’m going to be offering for them. Another big change is that we will hopefully be getting a few new members of Extreme-Days who will be contributing on a regular basis, so you guys wont be completely bored of constantly hearing from me.
As of now, I am not sure how the schedule for this next season is going to go, but I will give you a heads up when I figure it out and we will give it a shot and adjust accordingly.
I think that just about covers the update for the wrap up this summer and I am really looking forward to what you guys have to say and any suggestions you have to offer relating to this new season, because I am extremely excited and really pumped to get started!
