Firstly, I want to just let everyone know that this camera was close to impossible to find down here in Fort Myers, Florida. I literally went around the entire city trying to find this camera in any color except red and I ended up with a floor model in silver.
One of the main reasons why I picked this camera is the size of it and that even while it’s that small it still shoots full 1080p videos as well as doubles as a regular digital camera, so for me, it saves pocket space, which is always a good thing for a geek.
As I had been doing my research trying to find a suitable camera, I also saw lots of people ranting and raving about the audio quality that came along with the ELPH 300HS, and while audio quality is always a factor, I really didn’t think it would be that significant of an upgrade from the Kodak Zi8, but I bought it with an open mind and all that I can say is, boy did the audio quality prove me wrong. The audio quality of the Cannon Powershot ELPH 300HS is simply amazing!
One thing that I don’t really appreciate very much is the microphone positioning, because it’s easy to cover it with your fingers and if you’re moving the camera or there is slight wind, the microphone is so sensitive, that all you hear is the wind.
Other than that, I’m all ready to give this a shot and am looking forward to using this camera everyday! The full review will be up soon!
Photoshop: Remove Foreground Image: Using the Pen Tool
I know there are already a few tutorials on the internet out there about this same tutorial, but I figured I would give you my take on it and hopefully make it easier for anyone trying to get the hang of the pen tool, or how to speed up the process of making a thumbnail for a YouTube Partner video!
For some people, the pen tool is extremely intimidating and confusing, but I’m here to show you that it shouldn’t make you feel that way! The pen tool is an extremely versatile tool and once you learn how to properly manipulate it, it makes your life using Photoshop that much easier!
Before we start, I would like to quickly remind you of just a couple of keyboard shortcuts that will probably be useful during this project.
Firstly, don’t forget CTRL + Z for those of you who are using a Windows computer or CMD + Z for those of you who are on a Macintosh as I am. This keyboard shortcut is the equivalent of “Undo” and will be used often unless you’re perfect and we all know nobody’s perfect, so don’t forget this one!
The next shortcut is just like the previous and it is the equivalent of “Step Backward” which is accomplished by “CTRL + SHIFT + Z” on Windows, or CMD + SHIFT + Z” on a Mac. Now, the difference between these two is that the first one, or “Undo”, only undoes the last step, while “Step Backwards” can step backwards all the way to the first thing you changed.
Last, but not least, is CTRL + Y on Windows, or CMD + Y on a Mac. This “Redoes” what was just undone. This one is just encase you step backward too many times and want to redo what you just undid without physically re-selecting the point in our case.
Now that we have those steps down, sit back, relax, and watch the video for how to remove the foreground image from the background! It’s much easier to visually see how to do this than it is to try and explain it in text for you.
I checked around and I haven’t seen a tutorial on how to do this yet, so here is how to add more than 4 images to craigslist. It’s super simple and anyone can do it! Don’t be intimated by the word “HTML” this ISN’T hard!
The HTML code that you will need to do what I did is below.
Today is the day! The iPhone 4 has come to Verizon at last! I’m so excited right now for this unboxing and even though the iPhone 5 is due to come out in the next couple months, I have been able to upgrade my phone since November and I’m so sick of waiting that I broke down and just went for the iPhone 4!
All things considered, I am super happy with this purchase and if you have a Verizon upgrade ready and you feel that you can’t wait another month or two for the iPhone 5 to release, I would recommend to go ahead and purchase the iPhone 4 instead. Just make sure that you keep in mind that the only main upgrades that will come about in the iPhone 5 are slight speed differences and 4g capability, so the choice is yours!
Lately I was in a debate of which pocket camera to purchase for the new season of my daily vlogs. After much thought and consideration, I ended up purchasing the Kodak Zi8 and I must say, I am extremely impressed with it! Even though this is only an unboxing, I will go over my first impressions and my expectations VS what is actually offered with the Kodak Zi8.
The cameras I had in mind were the Kodak Zi8, the Flip Ultra HD, and the Sony Vado HD. While I was researching the features between the three I discovered that the Vado HD was only Windows compatible and so right away I threw that option away. Next I had the Flip Ultra HD, which was actually my first choice. The main reason why I liked the Ultra HD so much was because of the ability to use regular AA batteries for a quick swap on the go. When I went to go pick up the Ultra HD I talked to an employee and he recommended the Kodak Zi8 over the Flip Ultra HD because of all the extra features the Zi8 has to offer and even better, the Zi8 was on sale that day.
So that is basically the story behind why I purchased the Kodak Zi8 and not the Flip Ultra HD or the Sony Vado HD and after some use I will put out a review for what I think of the Zi8 and whether or not I would recommend it to others looking for a HD pocket cam.
Right out of the box the Kodak Zi8 presented a very sleek sexy look and feel to it with a much bigger display screen than the other two options and immediately upon booting the Zi8 you are presented with 5 video recording quality options to choose from. One other feature I really liked was the removable memory. This allows you to be able to upgrade to up to 32 gigabytes of video storage space on your Kodak Zi8. This fact alone was a major plus in my opinion and I can say right now that I am extremely happy with my purchase of the Zi8 over the other two pocket cams.
