Lets start off with the story this time, now as far as I’m concerned, Gears of War 2 has one of the most compelling story’s of any game I can remember playing! Not only does it make you want to keep playing, but it wont let you put down the controller, during the cut scenes you’re always on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what’s going to happen next.
I found that as you progress through the game you really seem to develop a relationship with the characters and feel like you’re part of their squad. This being said, there aren’t a whole lot of games that have achieved this, so I must say it’s a pretty big accomplishment and Rod Fergusson should be proud of that!

Next up, the graphics! Gears of War 2 has fairly exceptional graphics overall, not only has great detail been put into the character models, but the environment and scenery has been very well designed. Being as I’m a PS3 guy, I usually don’t give too many compliments to Xbox 360 games, but I was impressed with the graphics that Gears 2 had to offer!
The overall game play and controls were acceptable, the cover system was probably the biggest problem with this game. Most cover systems have problems and always seem awkward and hard to get used to and unfortunately, Gears 2 is included in that bunch. As far as the game play, it was decent, the CPU players were fairly helpful and did a good job at getting the enemies attention so you could take your time and line up a shot. Usually if the CPU does accomplish this, they attract too much attention and are always getting injured or killed and end up being a pain instead of a help, but Gears of War 2 has overcome that obstacle and made the CPU fairly beneficial.
I think that pretty much covers it all, overall Gears of War 2 is probably going to be one of the games you want to add to your Xbox 360 collection, but I don’t think it’s a must have. It’s definitely a good one to have as far as a two player game goes, because the multiplayer co-op is very well done and will keep your attention for a few hours at the very least!
